I am planning an awards dinner for 350, can you do this?
We can host an awards dinner in the World Stage Ballroom for 350 people. We can also host the following:
- Parties and networking events in our Blush and Premiere Night reception rooms for 350
- Dinner dance in our World Stage Ballroom for 380
- Presentations in the Stardome Auditorium for 300
- Cocktail parties and informal events using the whole attraction for 1,000
Can you host a smaller awards dinner?
We can host an awards dinner for up to 60 in Tussauds Stardome using the Upper Zone for reception, Auditorium for presentation and Lower Zone for dinner.
Can we use our own caterers for our event?
No however we have an accredited list of caterers (details can be found in our ‘Events Companion’) who are highly recommended within the industry. They all work in the building on a regular basis and have a good track record in delivering excellent food and service.
Most venues we use for our events are non smoking, do you allow smoking at your venue?
New Government regulations forbids smoking in enclosed places but smoking is allowed outside the venue under our awning.
As our event will be amongst the wax figures, will we need insurance?
Yes damage caused by the actions of a guest will be charged to the client as per our terms and conditions of hire. It is recommended that an insurance policy is taken out to cover £60,000 in the event of such damage.
Are you able to move the figures around the different areas?
Yes, at an additional cost. However we do ensure the figures in the World Stage are not positioned in the central walkway.
What time can we finish our party and what time does the event have to finish?
We have an entertainment and liquor licence until 2am. However, the bars and entertainment must finish 30 minutes before the end of the event.
I want to book a cool DJ for my reception and a tribute band for dancing after dinner, do you have any restrictions with regards entertainment?
All entertainment must be booked though one of our accredited entertainment agents, their details can be found in our ‘Events Companion’. An event manager from one of the entertainment companies will be at your event on the night to show-call your chosen entertainment and look after them. We do not allow any pyrotechnics.
I’m looking for entertainment to get the party going after dinner, what do you recommend?
We offer two fantastic cabaret shows specifically choreographed for Madame Tussauds, ‘West End Rocks’ and ‘Hot Fudge’ performed by singers and dancers currently staring on stage in the West End. The shows last approximately 20 minutes and are ideally suited for entertainment post dinner or to get guests up on the dance floor. Please see our ‘Events Companion’ for further information.
I’m currently in the process of organising a fashion show, can I supply my own AV and production?
No, we have a team of in-house technicians who will be present throughout your event. They are available to answer any question you may have and are available prior to your event should you wish to meet with them. All our equipment has to be managed by our technicians. Any additional equipment required to complement our system can be sourced though our events team.
Are there any hidden extras I need to know about?
The cloakroom, a team of hostesses, event security and all furniture requirements for seated events up to 200 guests are included within hire of the venue. Background music, lighting and our PA system are also provided free of charge. We also have a plasma screen in the reception and a further 3 in Blush which are also available to you. We charge below industry rates for additional AV equipment.
Can we supply our own drinks?
Madame Tussauds has an approved suppler for all drinks but we will allow clients to bring in their own drinks for a corkage charge from £10 per person + VAT.
What is the earliest time we can arrive and set up for our event?
6.45pm is the earliest we can allow access, normally we encourage 7.00pm. The organising team (less than 10 people) can arrive at 5.45pm.
Can I hire Madame Tussauds during the day?
No, but you can hire Thorpe Park where we have an award winning, purpose built event space that is ideal for conferences, team building and family fun days.
I want my colleagues to be collected from their hotels and brought to your venue, can you suggest something unusual?
We can arrange for your guests to be collected from their hotels in a classic double-decker bus, where they will be taken to the London Eye for an exclusive VIP flight and then on to Madame Tussauds for a red carpet welcome.
